| Hi Everyone!
I wondered if anyone could give me a little advice? My little one is 7 1/2 months, and eats solids really well, but I'm not sure about the next step? He has 4 7oz bottles a day and 3 meals of solids. I know soon we should make his food more lumpy etc, but I'm not sure when or how to do it, and what about finger foods? When should I try him with these? I know these might seem like basic questions, but Jake is my first one and my health visitors are worse than rubbish! Any tips of the trade would be very gratefully received! xx

| Hiya hun Ok fingerfoods. He is fine too eat baby biscuits and rice cakes you can buy at any superstore. Lumpy foods are a tricky one...some babies dont take too it aswell as others,it really depends on the individual. Its best too start by making their normal soilds thicker and thicker.. Then try them on something like weetabix for breakfast.I have started my son on smash mash potato with coliflower mixed in.He loves it. He still at 9 months wont touch foods with lumps in. | |

| Thanks everyone for that! I will try him with some finger foods, and see how he takes to thicker/less well mashed food!
Thanks for the website mumof4girls1boy, I've had a quick look and it looks really handy, I'll have a proper look when I'm not meant to be working!!

| They reccomend that you dont give cows milk until 1 yr and not to give nuts or seeds until 5 yrs (although i think this is a little over the top) xxxxxxx | |
