when i found out i was pregnant me and alan spent alot of time choosing the right name.

we decided that the first name should be indevidual and decided on *zachary*

and that middle names he should be named after one person in each family. alans brother in law and nephew both have the name *anthony* somewhere in their name and my grandad, uncle and cousin all have the middle name *james*

therefore my son was called *zachary anthony james*

i think that this is very important, i would never name my child after someone as a first name as i would worry that they would feel as though they were in someones shadow.

it's also my family tradition to name our girls after queens with names of 4 sylables.

my sister *victoria*
me *elizabeth*
my nieces *alexandra* and *amellia*
so my daughter would be *isabella* if i ever have one

it's really good to have something like that.

My son was suppost to be called Todd after my great nan (her surname) but as you say i didn't want him to feel he was someones shadow....so in the end up he was called duncan kimi todd.....

If i have a girl she will have my granny from my mums side in her name....mary
